Disciplined Crazies

From the Washington Times Inside Politics:

Both Democrats and Republicans have their “crazies,” says liberal author Todd Gitlin, but the difference is that Republican extremists “are tremendously disciplined, and they turn out to vote.”

As Republicans become more and more “big government” party (look at Bush’s domestic policies), Libertarians look better and better. Which is not to say Libertarians are going anywhere, but Republicans don’t need the split. Which is sorta the point of the blurb.
