Space Elevator

A giant elevator (evil reg. req.). For sending stuff to space. Why? C’mon, let’s colonize the moon or go to Mars or something interesting, for Pete’s sake. I guess they could send stuff up to the astronauts, IF THEY WERE PLANNING ON SENDING ANYONE ANYWHERE REMOTELY INTERESTING. Here’s Slashdot on the conference.
