Younger conservatives are ambivalent about gay marriage. For 20 years the gay movement has been trying to mainstream itself. Those of us under, what, 35 have been fed the line that it’s none of our business, etc. for most of our lives and now it is bearing fruit. If the polygamy movement gets to work, in another 20 years or so they can be sitting pretty too. Matter of fact, the gay movement has done a lot of the groundbreaking, it might only take them five or ten years.

Not So Fast 
There are a lot of very sound legal and financial reasons to disallow official polygamy. Benefits, etc, would be a nightmare. They would see a much more difficult task because it would be nearly impossible to claim it will have no effect on society, culture, or government.
