Hey, there’s a new beta Opera version out. Hurry, hurry, hurry. I’ll let you know how it works after I’ve taken it for a test drive.
*sigh* Tell me again why you use this thing? I’ve never quite understood the fascination with it. Except back in the day when it would fit on one floppy disk — but it looks like it doesn’t do that anymore — and does anyone have floppy disks anymore?
I’m kinda with Pete on this one. I do use it to see if there is a problem with IE or if it’s something else with the computer but I by no means use it for everyday use. It’s been rough enough using Netscape on this G5 I couldn’t imagine forcing myself to use something different on my old standby the PC
One more time: tabbed browsing and mouse gestures. Yes, I could get Firefox, but I got Opera first, so I’m more comfortable with it. When Microsoft gets around to updating IE, I’ll give it a try again.
*sheepishly* Yes, I vaguely remember another comment-versation like this, but I don’t recall if I asked about the mouse gestures or not… and if I did, I don’t think I ever read the answer…
…so what’s the big deal with mouse gestures? I had them on a mouse I bought a while back and turned them off immediately — never saw the point. Was I missing something?
PS: I’ve bookmarked the link so I don’t miss the answer this time. 🙂
PPS: IE is a total waste of time, IMHO. I used to use it exclusively because the startup time was LIGHTYEARS ahead of all of the other browsers (opera included) but Firefox is just as fast/faster now.
What? You haven’t memorize my previous remarks as pearls of wisdom to pass down through the ages?
I only use a few gestures, but they are handy. If I were making my living by the efficency of my surfing, they would be major productivity enhancers. As it is, they are just convienent. Now it’s such a hassle for me to move the mouse all the way back to the menu bar just to go back or forward. It totally ruins my flow. Mozilla had some that annoyed me because I kept accidentally tripping them. I could have adjusted the settings I suppose.
Yeah, IE has fallen behind. But I don’t think it’s wise to underestimate Microsoft. They may blaze past everyone else again.
You know, I don’t care for mozilla at all, but I love Firefox. Go figure.
A good solution to mouse gestures is to get a many-buttoned mouse. 🙂 Maybe I’ll hunt down a firefox mouse gestures plugin and give them a shot.
If only real life worked that way!
