As a Starbucks connoisseur I wanted to report in that I have just visited the southern-most Starbucks in the world in Invercargill, New Zealand. Unfortunately, the coffee tasted like Folgers instant and the scone as if it had been made out of unground wheat…which it probably was. The main problem with all of this is, of course, is that it cast doubt in my mind about the sort of coffee experience I would have at Starbucks in general. And so, with a bit of trepidation, I visited the Starbucks in Sydney. All was well, but it does go to prove that if they can’t control the quality that they’re going to have customer issues.
