UN wants to take over the internet again. Let’s see: Syria, China, Ghanna. Yep, that’s who I want in control of it. Couldn’t they get North Korea?
Not So Fast 
Rather than getting this skewed perspective from some weird blogger, you’d do better to research this issue yourself.
If you did, you’d know that ICANN officials in the United States had promised years ago to give some of the responsibilities over the main servers to smaller countries, who could control at least their own countries regulation of domain names, etc. That’s really the issue. If they did that – thousands of jobs would be created in all the countries, like Pakistan, India and a bunch of places that really could use more middle to low-class jobs.
This is less about the UN and more about America sharing something that can really help people.
You’ll be happy to know that I also read the wierdos at The Register and Business Week and I have followed this story for some time.
