The House extends the Patriot Act. It is nice to see Democrats worried about civil liberties. If we could get both sides worried at the same time, we might be on to something.

    You know… for all of the fearmongering, I have yet to be convinced that there’s a single thing in the PATRIOT Act that’s really all that harmful.

    I’m not a hardcore Patriot Act hater, but is it doing any good? If it is stopping terrorists, or slowing them down, fine. They should mention that once in a while. The only difference I’ve noticed is the hassle of having to provide a physical address when I want to use a PO Box. Then I have to explain to them I don’t want to pay the late fee because they sent it to the wrong address. I don’t understand why the mailing address concept is so hard for so many, but apparently it is.
