Senator Ted Stevens (Idiot- AK) wants to ban Wikipedia, amongst other “interactive” sites, in schools and libraries. And while I agree with the teachers that say it shouldn’t be used as an authoritative source, that doesn’t mean I think it should be banned. And if kids can’t add more sparkly, illegible, annoying plugins to their MySpace sites at school, well, I don’t think that’s something I can support.
P.S. The tube analogy is not a bad one. I have to give him that. It’s not like you can’t build more tubes though.

I am in complete agreement that Wikipedia should not be used as a source for projects and stuff, but it is also a great reference that does actually link to real sources that could be used.
Seems like there are much better things for them to ban…
