VDH doesn’t help at all.
If the United States could curb its voracious purchases of foreign oil by using conservation, additional petroleum production, nuclear power, alternate fuels, coal gasification and new technologies, the world price might return to below $40 a barrel.
We know all this, so what?
Actually, the one big thing that the US could do is to shut the people up who don’t want new refineries — and, build those refineries. The supply would go up and the prices drop.
To decrease the dependence on foreign oil, all we must do is drill the oil that the “greenie” crowd doesn’t want us to drill for.
They don’t want us driving at all. Or living the modern life Matter of fact, I’m pretty sure they want to turn us all back to subsistence farmers. Which, no doubt, would be great for the earth. Too bad for humans that it’s a miserable life.
Good luck getting Congress to ignore them, though.
