Huh? “drive55.org claims Washington state would cut CO2 emissions by 10 percent if it cut its 70 mph speed limit by 15 mph.”
Where the heck do we have 70 mph speed limits? Why are the highways around where I live stuck at 55-60? And why, when I drive on the 101 across the Olympic Peninsula, am I always stuck behind some buffoon doing 40?

I know this will come as a shock to Seattlites, but there is more of the state east of the Cascades.
Drive to Spokane some time. Somewhere out on the Palouse enlightenment will come.
Heck, I don’t even drive in Seattle that much. The ferries are too expensive. I usually head west, as I did yesterday to Neah Bay.
And, once again, I was stuck behind someone doing 40 on the 101, both going and coming.
Think of all the gas you save going 40!
