Man gets Vista to work with his printer.
Having used Vista for the past month, I’ve had no problems with it. Minor annoyances include having to okay EVERY MOVE rearranging the start menu, downloading Vista drivers. Once it and all my programs were installed it has given me zero problems, loads quickly, I have no complaints except the smoke taskbar is hideous, why can’t we change the colors?
I spoke with a coworker at Amazon who was one of Microsoft’s principal security gurus. The goal they had behind the “pester the user with dialog boxes” strategy was to get third-party software makers to stop doing questionable practices — i.e. this would be such a jarring notion that nobody would release software which caused one of these dialogs to pop up.
Alas, once again reality trumps theory.
Wow, that’s some thinking. If only they applied it to themselves.
