Day 21 – Favorite fictional romantic relationship

Cordelia and Aral Vorkosigan. It’s awesome, you should read it. And then the glimpses of them we’re given in the other Miles stories are awesome. I need to learn synonyms for awesome. Rad doesn’t quite work in most cases since it’s not 1989 anymore.

Spoiler alert: Cryoburn

Aral’s death at the very end of Cryoburn (RIP Aral) leads me to think that another book will be quickly forthcoming to deal with how Miles deals with becoming Count Vorkosigan and I really hope that Cordelia figures strongly in the story. I doubt she’ll stay as Vicereine of Sergyar without Aral (though if she stayed the political ripples that would cause on Barrayar would be interesting) and I’m interested to see how she deals with Barrayar without the lure of Aral. Of course, her son and grandchildren are all there, but anyway. Sad as Aral’s death is, it opens interesting doors.
