Other than the tuning issues, I like this version of White Knuckles better than the released version:
This Too Shall Pass, was definitely better with a Marching Band.

What? You are ridiculous. I loved the marching band, but the Rube Goldberg Machine was epic.
And where was the 4th dude?
The Rube Goldberg part of that was epic. The stuff crashing around during the song didn’t add a lot musically.
I can only assume it’s the drummer and he didn’t want to just stand on a ladder for 10 minutes. Maybe he’s afraid of heights.
Maybe, but how many people watch the videos for their musicality? Obviously the music is necessary for the video to work, but it seems the music is the context and the video is what we really want to see.
Who cares why people watch the videos? If you remember my original point I preferred the Marching Band version to the acoustic version, which by inference I preferred to the Rube Goldberg version, musically. Though not mentioned previously, I like the CD version best, musically. I was not judging the relative merits of the videos.
Perhaps I should have declared my first principles, defined my terms and delineated the goals and limits of the original post.
Well… well… well… fine then! 😉
